The Heart of Missouri Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) is one of 9 RPDCs located around the State of Missouri and primarily housed at state universities. The RPDCs have been in existence for 20+ years and were created by the Missouri legislature to serve the professional development needs of public school teachers and leaders of Missouri. Partial funding for the centers come from a contract with the Mo. Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education. The rest of center funding comes from fee for service work with regional schools. Heart of Mo. serves 57 school districts (213 buildings) in the central part of the state.
Programs housed at the center include Statewide Positive Behavior Support, Professional Learning Communities, Missouri Leadership Development System, Special Education Compliance and Improvement, Collaborative Work, Beginning Teacher Assistance, Missouri Teacher Academy, Career Advisors, and Trauma-Informed Schools.
